Blond Capuchin Monkey Habitat Reforestation Project
Reforestation and Conservation
The blond capuchin monkey (Sapajus flavius) is on the brink of extinction in an area devastated by deforestation, which has separated its populations and destroyed the natural habitat essential for its survival. Our project aims to restore the ecological corridor that once connected the monkeys' living areas, now disrupted by deforestation.
The initiative plans to plant 40,000 trees, restoring the green corridor and creating a safe and sustainable space for the preservation of the blond capuchin monkey. In addition to protecting this endangered species, the project promotes reforestation and the formation of a new biome, contributing to local biodiversity and environmental balance in the region.
To achieve our goal, we have established a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), a collaboration between the public and private sectors designed to bring our project to life.
The Project
The reforestation project will cover a total area of approximately 25 hectares (61.78 acres), where we will plant a total of 40,000 trees. This effort will restore the natural habitat and create a sustainable ecosystem for local wildlife.
To achieve this, we will focus on planting trees along the river, which serves as the natural link between the two separated areas. By reforesting the riverbanks, we aim to create a continuous corridor that will reconnect the habitats, providing a safe passage for the blond capuchin monkeys to move freely and thrive in their restored environment.
